The Origin Story

A Bike, a Grandma,
and a Jar of Pickles

I started Hank's Pickles in 2020 when my grandma came to visit from Detroit. I was trying to save up for a new skateboard, so we started making her pickles together and selling them to her tennis friends. They were obsessed. When my grandma went back to Detroit she left me the recipe, and I just kept going.

Word spread fast. More and more people kept buying them, everyone loved them, and after about a year a local grocery store called Grow reached out and asked if they could carry them. I said yes. After that it kind of took off and I ended up in five stores: Grow, The Green Store, Nick and Sons, Piccatto's, and Granny's Grocery in Hermosa Beach.

From there I started making merch. Hats first, then shirts, then hoodies and sweatpants. The brand kept growing.

Then I headed off to college in Madison, Wisconsin and my whole family moved to Utah. I pulled out of all the stores and packed everything up. Now I'm starting fresh, building a farm stand in Park City and just getting started on the next chapter.

How It's Made

From Cucumber to Crunch

1

Make the Brine

A precise salt-and-vinegar brine is prepared fresh for each batch — the foundation of the Hank's flavor.

2

Pack the Jar

Fresh cucumbers packed tight with whole dill, cracked garlic cloves, and a jalapeño kick.

3

Pour & Chill

Brine poured over the jars, sealed and refrigerated for 3 to 4 days.

4

Stick & Sell

"My favorite part" — the Hank's Pickles sticker means the jar is ready to go.
